• “Te Volvería A Elegir” – Calibre 50

Artista Regional Mexicano Del Año:

• Calibre 50

• Christian Nodal

Young and talented Christian Nodal, who last year became the first Regional Mexican Artist to debut on Spotify’s Top 100, received two nominations. One for Song of the Year Regional Mexican, “Se Me Olvidó,” which was composed by Nodal and another nomination for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year.

SESAC Latina Top 2020 Honorees Edwin Luna y La Trakalosa de Monterrey, who last year commemorated their tenth anniversary with shows at The National Auditorium and last month tallied its third No. 1 on Regional Mexican Airplay chart of Billboard, received a nomination for Regional Mexican Artist of the Year.

SESAC Latina is proud to represent all of its iHeart Radio Awards 2021 nominees:

SESAC Latina affiliates walked away with nine trophies at the 26th annual edition of the Premios Billboard, also known as the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which was held April 25, in Las Vegas.

In this gala event, which selects its winners solely on chart performance over the past 12 months in the United States and Puerto Rico, SESAC Latina artists showed that their songs generate airplay, sales and streaming from music fans week after week.

One year after receiving two accolades, urban-music pioneer Nicky Jam returned this year as the big winner with five awards, due to his Airplay Song of the Year “X” featuring J Balvin, and his appearance on the Streaming Song of the Year “Te Boté” (I Dumped You).

Nicky Jam also performed his new singles “Te Robaré” (I’ll Steal You) with Ozuna, and “Date La Vuelta” (Spin Around) with Luis Fonsi.

The Mexican pop trio Reik took home Latin Pop Song of the Year for its successful single “Me Niego” (I Refuse), featuring the urban artists Ozuna and Wisin. In addition, Reik joined Colombian urban artist Sebastián Yatra on stage to perform their single “Un Año” (One Year).

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old mariacheño singer and songwriter Christian Nodal won Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Solo.

Furthermore, Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga won two artist awards on the strength of its chart-topping single “Tu Postura” (Your Stance), which was written by SESAC Latina affiliate Edén Muñoz, leader of the powerhouse Regional Mexican quartet Calibre 50.

The larger-than-life singer, SESAC affiliate songwriter Javier Rosas was also on hand to perform “La Escuela No Me Gustó” (I Didn’t Like School), his Sierreño-styled hit with Adriel Favela.

SESAC Latina congratulates all of its affiliates who dazzled us with their talent and glamour on this memorable night. For a full list of Billboard Latin Music Award winners, visit Billboard.com.
